California-based Kan+Ade, maker of THC-infused medible mixers, occupies a unique niche in the cannabis space. The company’s flagship product is a potent, concentrated syrup that can be used as a drink mixer of for various other types of foods for a refreshing departure from alcohol or caffeine.
“We like calling our product a mixer because that’s what it is,” says Kan+Ade CEO and co-founder Jerry Tutunjian. “At heart, it’s a concentrated cannabis THC-infused mixer that is intended to be used with each customer’s creativity. What I mean by that is it can be used in their ice cream, on their desserts, on their pancakes, or in their coffee—however they see fit in mixing the product and infusing whatever item that they happen to be using on a day-to-day basis.”

The mixers come in four dosages—sometimes with 500mg of THC—with an array of flavors like Blueberry + Pomegranate, Green Apple, or Sweet Mango. They’re also gluten free, alcohol free, filler free, and vegan. The company trademarked the phrase “medible mixer,” given the limitations of trademark protections cannabis companies can expect.
PROMOTED
Kan+Ade won First Place at the 2022 SoCal High Times Cannabis Cup People’s Choice Awards in Tinctures + Capsules with the brand’s Extra Strength Watermelon 500mg THC Syrup. What’s significant about this is that the event is not judged by a select small pool of seasoned experts—rather it is judged by anyone in the public who wishes to do so.
Kan+Ade’s Target Market
The company was launched in 2017, and while cannabis-infused drinks were common at the time, Tutunjian noticed a lack of any products resembling five-hour energy shots or liquid concentrates that actually tasted good. This size provided a perfect mixer that can go in a variety of different foods and consistencies.

Kan+Ade has since moved into using isolate nanotechnology versus the distillate the company used prior, providing a more powdered raw form of THC. But it is sourced similarly as the distillate, and of course all of the products start from flower and are dependent on the quality of the flower.
“Within this facility, we have contracts with licensed cultivators within the facility that we feel are using the best genetics and also the best cultivation manufacturing processes throughout the lifespan of that on that plant,” Tutunjian adds.

“I have personally been in industry for over 15 years now,” says Tutunjian. “And I’ve been fortunate enough to create some really strong relationships with really good cultivators that do things the right way. Their cultivation processes and SOPs are just some top-notch high-level, highest of the highest level in the world procedures. And anytime you create any product with love, and those practices and those beliefs, typically the end product comes out spectacular.”
Kan+Ade seeks out sources of biomass with fine-tuned discretion. “It’s the same ideology: What you put in is what you get out, typically. And so now that we have the base of what we feel is the absolute best starting point of biomass, then from there, we start creating our distillate and isolate. And at that point, we’re really confident that our products are being infused with the best possible THC , whether it be distillate or isolate. We’ve been fortunate enough to create those relationships.”
A Connection to the Community
Kan+Ade collaborated with Catalyst Cares for a recent backpack drive and several other community projects.
On August 14, Catalyst Florence, a dispensary in Los Angeles, partnered with The Big House LA to host the company’s first-ever Backpack Drive under its community arm Catalyst Cares. At the event, over 1,000 backpacks and school supplies were delivered to children in need. Kan+Ade was joined by Plug Play, Clone Guy, Clarkies, CAM, No Till Kings, Bear Labs, Maven Genetics, Cali Kush, and Heavy Hitters.
The effort expanded, eventually involving Dignity and Power Now as well as New World Academy Foundation.
“At the end of the day, we really want to connect with the community,” says Tutunjian. “Without our fans, without our customers, without our loyal individuals who walk into dispensaries every day and purchase Kan+Ade—we’d be out of a job.”
Talk is cheap, he says. But by actually doing it—pumping out a good product and making it inexpensive and being involved in the community makes the company more genuine.
“In our six years of existence, we’ve never sacrificed the ingredients,” Tutunjian says. “We’ve always tried to look at other sectors where we can cut costs, you know, whether it’s efficiency, whether it’s just production speed, whether it’s packaging, less bad stickers, less touches less labor, but never have we ever thought of or even considered Changing the ingredients, which is one of the reasons why our product is so loved. And I firmly believe that’s why, you know, we won the 2022 SoCal High Times Cannabis Cup People’s Choice Award, it’s just, you know, we, we put a lot of love and care into the product from start to finish.”
With 15 years in the biz, Tutunjian says he’s seen it all—just about every type of setback you can imagine.
“We’re going to continue to fight,” he says. “We’re going to continue to come in to work every morning and pump out the best possible products we can pump out and hopefully we get the same reaction every time from our customers.”
